Fox Sports 1 just added another big name to their budding list of sports stars and personalities, as Brian Urlacher is reportedly set to join the new network this upcoming season.?
The Big Lead first reported on the negotiations taking place between the sports network and the Bears star who retired back in May.?
That report has been updated to state that the deal is done. Urlacher will now join the network that goes live on August 17.
While still early in the process, the report states that Urlacher will feature on?Fox Football Daily, which will complement the network's long-running Fox NFL Sunday pregame show.?

Fox Football Daily will be ready for the network's launch, so it seems the beloved Bears linebacker will be thrown immediately into the fray.?
As?The Big Lead?reminds, the eight-time Pro Bowler who played 13 seasons with Chicago will be just one of many big names jumping on board the all-new Fox Sports 1 bus as it embarks on a journey to rival its key competition, sports behemoth ESPN. That includes familiar former athletes like?Ronde Barber, Andy Roddick and Gary Payton.?
As noted, Urlacher's hire seems to be an answer to ESPN's recent addition of Ray Lewis to their respective football coverage.
We will wait until Fox Sports 1 actually airs a few shows to see how the former football star rates on the air. Lewis, renowned for his?motivational pregame speeches, translates rather well to the studio.?
As for Urlacher, the?Chicago Sun-Times reminds fans the 35-year-old featured for years on Fox-32?s The Final Word. He also spoke candidly with ESPN about his retirement and the?unpleasant?manner in which he left the organization.?
